Canales Daily: On The Scene At Galaxy/AC Milan
No one has a better perspective on what the Galaxy's 2-2 friendly result versus AC Milan and the reaction to David Beckham meant more than his teammates.
Though most of AC Milan's storied players ignored the media in the mixed zone after the game, the Los Angeles Galaxy players were in a cheerful mood and didn't mind sharing their views on the match and their newly-arrived teammate, David Beckham.

How did you feel about playing versus AC Milan?
It was a good show for the fans; a great night for soccer. It was a little different feel. We had a good time with it.
What did you think of the fans who reacted negatively to David?
They're going to do what they want, but he's going to win them over quick. You saw what happened in the corner - we got the corner kick and we scored right off of it. You can't boo a guy who is doing that for your team. He'll win them over very quickly.
How do you think the Galaxy represented for Major League Soccer?
It was a good night for us. We created a lot of chances and it was a back and forth game. It was fun. We wanted to go out and enjoy ourselves and I think we did that. All in all, it was definitely successful.
Did you get a jersey?
No jersey for me. It's tough, because I came out at halftime. When you're on the field, it's easier.
Goalscorer Alan Gordon, (an early sub due to Edson Buddle's toe injury).
How did you feel about playing versus AC Milan?
I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to play against AC Milan. It was bittersweet. I was sad Edson was coming out, but I was happy to go in.
What did you think of the fans who reacted negatively to David?
David is a great player. He is committed to this team and I think our fans need to show him some support while he's here. You can't look too far ahead. You've got to support the team now and look at this season. We can't jump ahead to next season.
How do you think the Galaxy represented for MLS?
We're doing really well. If we continue to do well, then who knows what's going to happen.
Did you get a jersey?
No, I kept getting turned down.
Goakeeper Donovan Ricketts
How did you feel about playing versus AC Milan?
I felt excited. They're an important team, and I felt excited about that.
What did you think of the fans who reacted negatively to David?
I don't know what to say. People are different, man.
How do you think the Galaxy represented for MLS?
I think we did fairly well. We didn't embarrass ourselves. We played well.
Defender Gregg Berhalter
How did you feel about playing versus AC Milan?
It was a good game. They had a rough travel schedule, so for them to come out for this game, shows their class. They're a classy team with good players.
What did you think of the fans who reacted negatively to David?
Yeah, that's not really something I want to talk about.
How do you think the Galaxy represented for MLS?
We've been fortunate to put ourselves in a good position so that when David comes back, he can really make a difference. He fit in great. He's a quality player.
Did you get a jersey?
No. Next time.
Midfielder Chris Klein
How did you feel about playing versus AC Milan?
Yeah, it was fun.
What did you think of the fans who reacted negatively to David?
I was a bit surprised, and a little disappointed, but they have a right to speak. I think the longer he's here and shows his commitment to us this season, they're going to come around. At the end of the day, these are Galaxy supporters. They want this team to do well, and as we do well, they'll come on board.
How do you think the Galaxy represented for MLS?
I think we represented ourselves very well. They're one of the world's great teams, regardless of where they are in their preseason. These are world-class players, and I thought we did very, very well.
Did you get a jersey?
Yeah, I did.
Whose?
Um, I forgot whose.
