Garber Selects Beckerman And Morales For All-Star Game

RSL midfield duo Kyle Beckerman and Javier Morales will join the First XI at the 2009 All-Star game.

Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has selected his two picks for the MLS All-Star game against Everton on July 29. The game, set to take place in Real Salt Lake's Rio Tinto Stadium, will now feature RSL duo Kyle Beckerman and Javier Morales.

Earlier in the week the voting from fans, media, players, and staff was announced in the All-Star First XI. With the commissioner's picks added, the total confirmed players is 13. Houston Dynamo coach Dominic Kinnear and his staff, set to lead the team against Everton, will select the remaining players of the gameday 18 man roster.

Defenders: Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo)*, Wilman Conde (Chicago Fire)*, Chad Marshall (Columbus Crew)*

Forwards: Conor Casey (Colorado Rapids)*, Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy)*

^ Blanco replaced Dwayne De Rosario in the lineup, as De Rosario will be with Toronto FC for CONCACAF Champions League and Blanco was next highest vote getter in the midfield.
