Red Bulls Net Defender Leo Krupnik
Former MetroStars defender Leo Krupnik has joined the New York Red Bulls.
The New York Red Bulls have signed former MetroStars defender Leo Krupnik, the club announced. The 29-year-old has spent the last half decade in the Israeli Premier League, most recently with Maccabi Haifa.
“We have been tracking Leo’s progress for some time and we think he will immediately add depth and experience to our defense,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Jeff Agoos.
Drafted in the sixth round by the New York MetroStars, Krupnik never made an appearance for the club. Instead, he spent time with USL's Wilmington Hammerheads and Charleston Battery before departing for Israel in 2005.
Krupnik is free to join the Red Bulls' roster after the international transfer window opens on July 15 and upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.
