VIDEO: David Beckham Responds To Criticism

David Beckham made clear that he is going to have words with his Los Angeles Galaxy teammate, Landon Donovan.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - On hand for an adidas charity event in support of Footprint Fields, the initiative to build more soccer fields in urban areas, David Beckham made his first U.S. appearance after returning from Italy and also responded to critics of his tenure with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Though he insisted that he has been and will always be professional, Beckham also maintained that he would be talking with Landon Donovan, the current Galaxy captain, who had criticized the English midfielder's commitment to the Major League Soccer squad.

Though the comments by Donovan were made last year, at the start of Beckham's loan to AC Milan, they were only made public now with the release of a new book, The Beckham Experiment, by Grant Wahl.

In response to reports of excerpts from the book, Beckham took issue with the characterization of his Galaxy captaincy as ineffective.
