Galaxy Officially Agree To Terms With MF Birchall
The deal has been in the works for quite some time, but it has finally become official.
The Los Angeles Galaxy have announced the signing of Trinidad & Tobago midfielder Chris Birchall according to a press release sent out by the team.
“Chris is a player that I’ve tracked for a number of years,” Galaxy General Manager and Head Coach Bruce Arena said. “He is an experienced midfielder with good qualities on both sides of the ball who I feel he will be able to contribute immediately as we push for a playoff position.”
Birchall, 25, has played his entire club career in the UK, enjoying successful stints at Port Vale, Coventry, St. Mirren, and Brighton and Hove.
A native of Stafford, England, Birchall plays his international football for Trinidad & Tobabo, where he has won 32 caps. In those appearances, he’s added four goals. He was a key member of the squad that won its first ever qualification to the World Cup in 2006.
