The New England Revolution have announced the signing of Edgaras Jankauskas on a free transfer.

A native of Vilnius in the Soviet Union, Jankauskas brings a wealth of experience to New England, having played over 18 years in various leagues across Europe.

“We are pleased to sign Edgaras,” Revolution Vice President Michael Burns said. “He is a very experienced player at both the club and international level, and he is a proven scorer who can hold the ball up well. We expect he will be a good fit for our team and we’re anxious to get him acclimated to MLS.”

Jankauskas will take up an international spot on the Revs roster, one that they acquired from Kansas City this week.

Some of his notable stops during his career include spells with FC Porto, Benfica, Real Sociedad, and FC Bruge.

The 34-year-old is also a veteran of the Lithuanian national team having made 54 appearances for his country, scoring 10 goals. He also won the Champions League with Porto.
