TFC Release Rohan Ricketts

The Canadian club announced they are parting ways with the winger/full-back.

Toronto FC have announced that they have released Rohan Ricketts after two seasons with the club.

The 26-year-old England-native had be a consistent member of the starting line-up for The Reds, but his play didn’t always mirror his ability to stay in the first XI.

A veteran of the English leagues, Ricketts has played spells with Tottenham, Wolves, and Barnsley before joining Toronto in April of 2008.

Since joining TFC, Ricketts made 39 appearances for the club (29 starts), scoring four goals and contributing four assists.

This is the second personnel move by Toronto in as many days. On Tuesday they released forward Johann Smith, which could lead to speculation that a big move may be in the works for the club who currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
