The San Jose Earthquakes have signed Canadian international midfielder Antonio Ribeiro. The Portuguese native has spent his entire career in Canada, mostly with the USL-1 side Montreal Impact.

"Antonio has a good engine and covers a lot of ground,” said general manager of soccer operations John Doyle. “He is a good ball-winner and Frank (Yallop) knows him well so we are happy to bring him to San Jose.”

The 28-year-old helped his team qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League last year as well as two regular season titles before that.
