Several Serie A stars have been nominated for this year's Golden Foot Award, according to tuttomercatoweb.
The prestigious accolade is given to players who stand out for their athletic achievements (both as individuals and team players), for their personality, and for the esteem of the public and football experts. The award is only given to players at least 28 years old.
Serie A has dominated the list of nominees this season, with six of the ten plying their trade in Italy.
The potential winners include well-known veterans from around Europe and are Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Luis Figo (Portugal) Steven Gerrard (England), Ronaldinho (Brazil), Ryan Giggs (Wales), Thierry Henry (France), Raul Gonzalez Blanco (Spain), Francesco Totti (Italy), David Trezeguet (France), and David Beckham (England).
