Beckham: Players Would Reduce Salary To Play With AC Milan
'Golden Balls' is enjoying his time with the Rossoneri to such an extent, he insists that some would pay to suit up with the Serie A giants.
Milan midfielder David Beckham willingly gave up a large portion of his salary to extend his loan at the club from MLS side LA Galaxy. However, The English international claims he had no second thoughts regarding his decision.
"One thing is for sure - there are many players in Europe and the world that would pay out of their own pocket to play at a club like Milan. So, I would have done anything to stay here until the end of the season," he explained in an interview with Il Giornale.
Rumours continue to circulate that Carlo Ancelotti could be on his way to Chelsea during the summer, but the 33-year-old believes that 'Carletto' will remain with the Rossoneri.
"When I arrived at Milanello, Ancelotti was already studying English. Every time I try to fix his English, he insists on making errors and we end up laughing. I can't tell you anything about Chelsea."
Meanwhile, the former Manchester United player has had his own difficulties learning the Italian language.
"I admit I haven't made much progress," he revealed. "I can only say 'congratulations' to the referee or 'good goal' to Pippo [Inzaghi]. [Paolo] Maldini speaks English and there is also [Gennaro] Gattuso, who speaks a language of his own, but I understand him perfectly."
