Neither Chris Eylander or Pete Vagenas has seen pitch time for Seattle Sounders FC yet because of injury. However, both are nearing full fitness, and could rectify that dearth of action this weekend away against Chivas USA.

Both have had issues with their knees: midfielder Vagenas underwent surgery on his after being picked up in the 2009 Expansion Draft from the LA Galaxy.

Goalkeeper Eylander sprained the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after being signed from USL-1 Seattle Sounders.

Last weekend, Kasey Keller was sent off for handling the ball outside the area. He will miss the game against Chivas USA. If Eylander cannot make it, Major League Soccer pool 'keeper Ben Dragavon will continue between the sticks, since he stepped in against Kansas City.

Goal.com's Seattle correspondent John Zielonka got the latest news from both players, including a welcome by Sebastian Le Toux, partly in French.
