Speaking after his side's Major League Soccer season opener, Landon Donovan called the Los Angeles Galaxy's first half "discouraging." A sluggish Galaxy side went into the half a goal down to D.C. United, and were down by two after about an hour.

However, a spirited resurgence, spearheaded by Landon Donovan, saw Galaxy score two goals in the last ten minutes.
