VIDEO: Seattle Celebrates Sounders And Winning Debut
The party celebrating the new soccer team for Seattle started long before the first ball was ever kicked and continued long after the final whistle. Goal.com's John Zielonka captured some classic moments on video.
The newest team in Major League Soccer, Seattle Sounders FC, will never again have another first game in club history, so many fans in the city made sure they didn't miss out.
It wasn't all about the game, either. Fans marched to the stadium, led not only by the team's band, but by some of the club's owners, including comedian, entertainer and host Drew Carey, who lauded the support that gathered for the Sounders.
Goal.com's Seattle correspondent John Zielonka caught soccer history on tape in his video of the events to bring to our site visitors.
Post-game moments were also captured, as the players celebrated their victory with some of the nearly 33,000 fans who showed up at the match.
Who can tell if the Sounders will continue their early momentum, but it's clear that opening night was a dream debut for Seattle's soccer team.
