Former Fulham Midfielder Simon Elliott Signs With San Jose
The San Jose Earthqakes have acquired 34-year-old Simon Elliott, who joins from Fulham.
The San Jose Earthquakes have signed veteran midfielder Simon Elliott, the club announced today. The 34-year-old New Zealand international has been training with the club all through preseason, and holds a green card.
“We have always known that Simon was a quality player,” said General Manager of Soccer Operations John Doyle. “He had a number of very good seasons in MLS and was able to move to England. It has been a pleasant surprise to see him overcome his Achilles’ injuries. He once again looks like the Simon Elliott that we have always known.”
The holding midfielder has racked up nearly 200 games for Major League Soccer sides Columbus Crew and Los Angeles Galaxy. He joins San Jose after a two and a half year stint with Fulham in the English Premier League.
