Chivas USA Announce Lillingston Capture
Eduardo Lillingston has joined Chivas USA, the club announced today. The Mexican striker may be thrown into action in the opening weekend of MLS play, given Chivas' injury situation.

Chivas USA have announced the signing of Mexican striker Eduardo Lillingston today. Lillingston has been on trial with the Los Angeles-based club since its tour of Guadalajara in February.
Pending the arrival of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Work Visa, the 31-year-old will continue training with the club in California.
"Eduardo is an experienced player who has shown a good workrate and positive attitude since joining us at our preseason camp in Guadalajara," said Chivas USA Head Coach Preki. "We are happy to have him join our club and look forward to his contributions to Chivas USA this season."
Lillingston has suited up for Mexican clubs Toluca, Santos, Atlas, and Tecos UAG, scoring 57 goals in his 12 years of professional soccer.
Given Chivas' continued injury crisis, Lillingston may very well see his first piece of Major League Soccer action on March 21, when Chivas open their season against the Colorado Rapids in the Home Depot Center.
Ante Razov is not expected to play a part for another month, Alecko Eskandarian and Atiba Harris have yet to fully recovery from their respective injuries, and Maykel Galindo will only be used from the bench as he continues to regain fitness and health following a sports hernia surgery in the offseason. That leaves Justin Braun as the man likely to partner Lillingston up front against Colorado, unless Preki prefers to use Sacha Kljestan in a more advanced role.
