thumbnail Hello,

Beckham maybe lacking in strength, but his fitness is amongst the best at the club, according to a top personal trainer.

AC Milan's athletic coach, Daniele Tognaccini has shared his views on David Beckham's fitness and believes that a lack of physical strength does not hinder the England midfielder.

Since his arrival in December, Beckham has won over the Rossoneri crowd with his hard work on the pitch.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United ace has shown incredible levels of fitness for his side and he has impressed trainers at Milanello. 'Becks' has come under fire for his lack of strength compared to others at the club, but Tognaccini can see the positives.

"When Beckham arrived at Milan he had excellent aerobic capacities but he lacked physical strength," the trainer told Mens Health magazine.

"However, this is not a defect because if Beckham had too much muscle then he would lose resistance and stamina.

"What counts in a player is their relative strength and the relationship between power and body weight."

Although Milan want to keep the midfielder permanently, their offer to the LA Galaxy, like Beckham's strength, has been weak. Reports suggest Milan will wait until the deadline on March 9 before swooping for his signature.
