Milan were defeated 2-1 in the Derby della Madonnina by an Inter side who now have an eleven point advantage over their cross town rivals with 14 rounds to go in the season.
Pato grabbed the only goal for the Rossoneri, however two first half strikes by Adriano and Dejan Stankovic were enough for the Nerazzurri to record yet another victory.
Following the completion of the contest, David Beckham spoke to Sky in an interview, where he spoke about his future with the club, rather than his disappointing performance in the derby itself, that ended after just 57 minutes, when he was replaced by Pippo Inzaghi.
“The agreement has not been reached yet,” the English midfielder confirmed in the interview.
“The two clubs will talk again this week and also next week, so you will have to wait and see what happens.
“I hope that things go in my favour, and as I have already stated numerous times, my desire is to remain at Milan.
“I have made it clear that I want to stay here and it would be difficult to return to play in the United States,” Golden Balls concluded.
Beckham will have the opportunity to play in the UEFA Cup next week, when the Rossoneri take on Werder Bremen in Germany.
