With both their stars away on loan and making noises about permanent deals, Goal.com asked the readers who they thought was more crucial to the Los Angeles Galaxy. It was a close fight, but USA international striker Landon Donovan edged it over his English international teammate, David Beckham.
Goal.com's Zac Lee Rigg and Andrea Canales duked it out on the issue in the latest Counterattack.
Landon Donovan is currently on loan with Bavarian giants Bayern Munich. He has made debuts in the German Cup and league play, grabbing minutes as a substitute. He has yet to score an official game, but has expressed a desire to make this stint in Germany stick. The 26-year-old had two failed spells with Bayer Leverkusen as a youngster, but felt more at home with the Galaxy.
David Beckham is with Italian giants A.C. Milan. In the past three games he has scored twice and notched two assists. Not too shabby from the 33-year-old.
However, it's the American who 60% of Goal.com readers think is more important to the Galaxy's success. Beckham, though the marketing face, captain, and highest earner, could only manage to collect 40%.
