Chivas USA Star Sacha Kljestan Trains With Celtic

Sacha Kljestan will spend a week training with Scotland's Celtic with an eye on a permanent deal if he impresses the Glasgow giants.

Chivas USA midfielder Sacha Kljestan will spend a week training in Scotland with Celtic. He departed a January national team camp on Thursday evening to link up with the Glasgow club on Friday.

2008 was a breakout season for Kljestan. He led his club side in goals and assists, made the Major League Soccer Best XI, and worked his way into the full USA national team. He also won the 2008 U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year.

Celtic sit atop the Scottish Premier League, 5 points ahead of arch-rivals Rangers. International teammates Maurice Edu and DaMarcus Beasley suit up for Rangers in domestic play, though both have fallen out of favor of late.
