Galaxy Acquire Magee From Red Bulls
New York Red Bulls midfielder Mike Magee has been traded to the Los Angeles for a conditional second round pick in this year's MLS SuperDraft.

The Los Angeles Galaxy continued their busy pre-draft day afternoon by trading for New York Red Bulls forward/midfielder Mike Magee. The club traded a second round pick to New York.
“Mike is a very good attacking player and can play in a number of positions,” Galaxy General Manager and Head Coach Bruce Arena said. “At 24 years old, Mike brings us some proven quality and experience. I believe he will be a great asset to our team.”
The 24-year-old Magee has spent his entire six year MLS career with New York, making 130 appearances and scoring 23 goals in process. He has often been considered one of their more valuable players, with his performances this season contributing to their run to the MLS Cup.
In 2003 he was the 4th overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft by the Red Bulls after having previous unsuccessful spells in Europe, notably with Ajax Amsterdam.
Playing with various levels of the US national team, Magee has never been able to crack the senior squad, despite the fact that Bob Bradley, now the coach of the USMNT signed him with the Red Bulls, then the Metrostars back in 2003.
