Galliani: Milan Dreaming Of Beckham Stay
The vice president of the Rossoneri has stated that the Rossoneri will do all they can to ensure that David Beckham remains at the club.
David Beckham and his new Milan
team mates are set to return from Dubai
in the next 24 hours, following a mid-season training camp that has hopefully,
for their sake, revitalized their season.
It has been an eventful time in the United Arab Emirates for the club, as they have done it all whilst over there.
From training under armed guard, to requesting the very best suites in the hotels for Victoria Beckham, to playing Hamburg in a friendly match, the club’s technical staff have been kept very busy over the past ten days or so.
Prior to their return home, the vice president Adriano Galliani has spoken to Tuttosport in regards to the club’s new signing David Beckham, a player that he hopes will remain with the club at the conclusion of his loan period.
“I still believe that the acquisition of Beckham at this point in time was an excellent decision,” Galliani stated in the interview.
“He brings attention to the club, he has the ability to bring in the sponsors, and he is a great person to have in the squad,” he added.
As well as marketing benefits, Beckham’s football ability isn’t all that bad either, and the vice president affirmed this as he continued the interview.
“Beckham can play the role of Gattuso for now, and so of course he will also provide us plenty from a technical point of view,” he continued.
“All we are worrying about now is the question: will he stay or will he go?
“I am unsure at this point in time; however I can assure fans of the club that we have a strong desire to retain the former Real Madrid star.
“In terms of what has been said thus far, it is unlikely that he will remain, however we will see…,” Galliani concluded.
If all goes according to plan, Beckham is expected to feature in the Rossoneri’s first game of the calendar year against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.
