DC United Re-Sign Quaranta
The talented 24-year-old has re-signed with DC United, according to a press release from the team.

DC United have announced that they have re-signed midfielder Santino Quaranta to a contract extension, but the terms of the deal were not disclosed as per club policy.
"Santino is very deserving of a new contract," said United General Manager Dave Kasper. "He had his best season as a professional for us in 2008, and he will be a significant part of our team moving forward. Santino's best soccer is ahead of him, and we are thrilled to have him back with us for the long term."
Quaranta started his career with DC back in 2001 and played with the club for five seasons, making 62 appearances and scoring 14 goals. At that time he was the youngest player to ever make an appearances in the MLS, breaking Bobby Convey's record. It was later broken by teammate Freddy Adu.
After being traded to the LA Galaxy and then to the New York Red Bulls, Quaranta re-signed with DC before the season and proved his worth this season, enough so to instigate the team to offer him a long-term contract.
The 24-year-old made 27 appearances with DC United this season, scoring five goals and adding four assists. He’s also been capped by the US Men’s National Team, having played in 11 matches with the senior squad since 2005.
