VIDEO: Three More Pick Crew For Cup

Another round of MLS Cup picks has three more U.S. soccer personalities picking the Columbus Crew as the favorites. Goal.com has exclusive quotes and video.

Clint Dempsey - Fulham (PA)

Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson are both former Major League Soccer superstars who are currently playing in England, but the pair are paying close attention to the MLS Cup Final. Goal.com asked each player to pick a winner.

Johnson, who put in a Man of the Match performance last week for Cardiff, picked the Crew on the strength of Sigi Schimd being a great manager. Johnson also thought that Columbus was the stronger team all year.

“They’ve got experience in Schelotto and Frankie (Hejduk) and a good group of young players like Robbie Rodgers and Eddie Gaven,” Johnson said. “They’ve been a good team all year.”

Dempsey was of the same opinion, but was a little more reserved in picking one side over the other.

“I’d have my money on (Columbus),” the 25-year-old Fulham midfielder said. “At the same time you never know what can happen with a Cinderella story. I think Columbus has more depth, but you can never count either team out when they have the likes of Juan Pablo Angel and Guillermo Barros Schelotto, two players that can create and score goals.”

Both Dempsey and Johnson mentioned the defensive play of Chad Marshall as one of the reasons they liked the Crew. However, Marshal has yet to get the call into Bob Bradley's U.S. squad. Why does Bradley think the Crew will win, and did he notice Marshall as well?
