VIDEO: Buddle Tips Crew for Cup

Edson Buddle will watch the MLS Cup final from the sidelines this weekend, despite an impressive 15 goal haul this season. The striker gave his prediction and thoughts on what he'll see exclusively to Goal.com.

Despite being on premature vacation, Edson Buddle has a lot of ties to this year’s MLS Cup. The Los Angeles Galaxy striker has suited up for both Columbus Crew and Red Bull New York, the two teams who will duke it out for the trophy on Sunday.

They will do so in Buddle’s backyard, the Home Depot Center, home of the Galaxy. Buddle, despite scoring 15 goals in the regular season, couldn’t lead his squad into the playoffs, and will have to suffice himself with watching from the sidelines. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an opinion.

Buddle has tipped the Crew to win the Cup with a 2-1 scoreline. His reason? He spent a longer amount of time in Columbus than in New York.

The gap-toothed striker also picked out the players who will score the goals. For New York, it will be Juan Pablo Angel. It’s Chad Marshall and Brian Carol to score for the winning team.

“I would say Brian Carroll for Columbus," Buddle explained, “just because he’s been the man that no one talks about, but he’s been the engine for that team.”

There you have it, folks. Go place your bets now, or as soon as you finish watching the exclusive Goal.com video below.
