Osorio Ready For Creative RSL

As his team gets set for the Eastern Conference Final, boss Juan Carlos Osorio has been studying his opponents, Real Salt Lake, quite closely.

In match against two teams who made the post-season on the last matchday of the season, the Western Conference Final is sure to be one filled with motivated play and exciting chances.

Always prepared for the task ahead, New York Red Bulls coach Juan Carlos Osorio understands the threat that his opponents bring to the table.

“I think they are a very good team with a very good coach. Jason [Kries] has done great work with them this season,” said Osorio of Real Salt Lake in an MLS teleconference. “They are very strong moving forward, have an excellent anchorman in [Kyle] Beckerman and experience at goalkeeper.”

As far as tactics are concerned, Osorio sees a very creative team at Rio Tinto Field, and his boys will need to be prepared when they travel to Salt Lake to try and get to the MLS Cup.

“The way they arrange the middle of the field, they have very creative players. They have the ability to counter-attack quickly, so we have to be prepared,” said Osorio of the threats that lie ahead. “We have pointed out how they start their attack and we have to be very proactive in how we defend so we can be sure to contain them.

One of Salt Lake’s biggest most dangerous men, at least recently has been Yura Movsisyan, and Osorio realizes the problems he may cause. Leading RSL with seven goals in 22 matches, Movsisyan has scored huge goals for his club down the stretch and will look to do the same against New York.

“I pointed him out when he wasn’t getting a lot of playing time,” said Osorio of the young forward. “I’ve always said he’s a dangerous forward and he has recently changed a lot of people’s opinion of him with his play and he is now certainly one of their main threats.”

It’s sure to be an exciting match between the two talented teams, and Osorio is hoping he can lead his team to by Salt Lake and to their first ever MLS Cup appearance.
