Burdisso’s future at the Stadio Meazza is currently clouded in huge doubt following a poor campaign last season. The 27-year-old has been regularly linked with a move away from the club, with Juventus and Fiorentina both named as possible destinations.

While a move to the former looks unlikely due to the rivalry between Inter and Juve, La Nazione says that a transfer to the Viola is very much a possibility.

Coach Cesare Prandelli is said to be lining up a one year loan move for Burdisso, who would come in as a replacement for both Tomas Ujfalusi, who has already left on a free transfer, and Dario Dainelli, who seems set to join Genoa.

Burdisso’s ability to play along the whole of the backline attracts Prandelli, as does the excellent fitness levels of the Argentine.

However, the former Boca Juniors star is off to the Olympics soon, thus making any transfer difficult until he arrives back in Italy from Beijing.

Fiorentina have been making quite a splash in the transfer market this summer, having captured Gianluca Comotto (Torino), Juan Manuel Vargas (Catania), Felipe Melo (Almeria), Stevan Jovetic (Partizan Belgrade) and Alberto Gilardino (Milan). Yesterday they also completed the signing of highly rated Brazilian starlet Jefferson from Parana.
