Ali Al Habsi
The goalkeeper had a busy start to the match as Liverpool started the game very quickly, he will have been disappointed with the goal he conceded but Torres placed just wide of his outstretched hand. He had a quiet second half as Wigan dominated but he will have been relieved to see Gerrard's strike hit the crossbar.
The full back had a good game and looked very dangerous going forward, he delivered many dangerous crosses into the six yard box and it was his cross that was parried into the path of Rodallega for the equaliser.
Was outpaced by Torres for Liverpool's goal but otherwise the defender had a solid game, he looked comfortable in the air and when needed to he played the ball nicely out of defence to start many of the Wigan attacks in the second half.
He had a shaky start and the movement of Torres and Gerrard was something he struggled to cope with, however in the second half he looked much more assured as Wigan dominated the game and Liverpool's passing game disappeared.
Like Stam on the right side Figueroa looked to attack whenever he could down the left side and he had a lot of success in supporting N'Zogbia. He kept Maxi very quiet and rarely gave him a chance to stretch his legs and cause any trouble.
Thomas didn't really stand out in the Wigan midfield but that's not to say he didn't contribute, his tough tackling and simple passing enabled the creative players like Gomez, Cleverley and N'Zogbia to attack the Liverpool defence. Thomas did his job perfectly and will be happy with his performance.
He was involved in everything Wigan did, his creativity was fantastic and had there been more players in the six yard box Wigan could have won this game. He gave all of the Liverpool defenders a torrid time but especially the two full backs. His direct running and trickery on the wing was beautiful to watch and he will be attracting interest from the big clubs he continues to dominate games like this.
Tried to create chances from his attacking role in midfield but his final ball was always just missing, otherwise the Spaniard had a comfortable game and linked up play very nicely.
Similar to Thomas in that he broke up Liverpool's attacks and provided an excellent shield for the Wigan defence, but Diame also showed attacking flair to get up and support the attacks and he was unlucky not to have scored late on with a good low shot that was well saved by Reina.
The on-loan midfielder had a good game, he looked calm and in control against his opponents and his trickery helped create some of Wigan's best chances. He switched wings with N'Zogbia on regular occasions and looked comfortable on both sides as Liverpool's defence struggled to cope.
The striker had a tough task playing on his own upfront but he handled it very well and caused lots of trouble to Skrtel and Carragher. He took his goal very well, he showed good awareness to get onto the loose ball and showed composure to blast it into the open goal and earn his side a point. He could have had more goals had luck been on his side.
Was kept busy during the second half and he dealt with the majority of the chances well, he will be disappointed that he was unable to hold Stam's cross which led to Rodallega's equaliser.
Cleverley and N'Zogbia gave the full back a torrid time and he struggled to get anywhere near either of them at times, he also had to contend with Stam overlapping so his job was made even harder. His passing and general play could have been better and will be a concern to his manager.
Struggled against Rodallega and N'Zogbia who constantly ran at the Liverpool defence, he made some crucial clearances and worked hard to keep his side in the game.
The youngster was given a tough time by Charles N'Zogbia and he struggled to contain the winger creating chance after chance for Wigan. He was given little support from Maxi which made his task even harder when Rodallega joined the attack.
Was lucky that his missed interception didn't cost Liverpool a second goal, he struggled against Rodallega with his strength and pace but will be glad they were able to deny the hosts a winning goal.
Only lasted the first half due to sickness and he wasn't as effective as usual during the opening period, he linked up nicely with Gerrard and Torres but not often enough to please his manager.
Rarely got involved in the match as Wigan's midfield dominated the game. Figueroa kept him under control very well and the winger was unable to create any chances for Torres.
The Liverpool skipper never stopped running and looked to give his side some inspiration to go and win the game, but he was unable to break through the solid Wigan defence. When he did have a chance to win the game he was very unlucky to see his shot crash against the underside of the bar and bounce to safety.
Fought hard in the midfield but was out battled by Thomas and Diame. The Brazilian gave the ball away at times which hindered Liverpool's attacks and gave the impeteus back to the hosts.
Took his goal very well following an excellent ball from Gerrard, the Spaniard looked very lively in the first half when the ball was being played into his feet on regular occasions but in the second half Alcaraz and Caldwell marshalled him well and he hardly had a kick.
Worked tirelessly and looked very lively in the opening stages of the match but as Wigan began to dominate the game he drifted out of it and was rarely involved in the second half.
- C. Kirkland
- 13 S. Caldwell
- 16 J. McArthur
- 8 B. Watson
He looked lively after his introduction and he kept the pressure on the Liverpool defence but he wasn't able to create any clear chances for himself or his team mates
F. Di Santo
The striker came on late in the game and didn't have chance to make an impact
- 9 M. Boselli
- 41 M. Hansen
- 26 J. Spearing
Rather ineffective after replacing Kuyt
A disappointing performance from the youngster who replaced Merieles at half time, he struggled to adapt to the pace of the game and made some errors that nearly cost his side the point.
Didn't have much of a chance to make an impact after replacing Maxi
