DID YOU KNOW?
  • If Seattle wins or ties, it will wrap up a postseason berth. Results elsewhere could also push the Sounders into the playoffs regardless of this result.

  • A loss for Vancouver will definitively rule the Whitecaps out of the playoffs, but even a win might not be enough.
  • Saturday's match will mark the last MLS game for Empire Field. Next week Vancouver will debut the renovated BC Place.
  • Joe Cannon made his 300th MLS appearance last week against the LA Galaxy, becoming only the second goalkeeper (and 16th player overall) to accomplish the feat.
  • In the reverse fixture, the sides drew 2-2 in Seattle. Eric Hassli hit a brace, and Osvaldo Alonso and Mauro Rosales, who set a franchise record with 12 assists on the season before going down injured against D.C. United last week, scored for the Sounders.
  • The Whitcaps have one away match remaining, on Oct. 15 against FC Dallas. Only three teams in MLS history have completed a season without an away win, and Vancouver will join them if it doesn't pick up three points in that match.
