On the whole a solid display. Could do nothing about both of Schneiderlin's goals but showed weak wrists to allow Pelle to end the contest.
An imposing presence in midfield, was disciplined and strong in the center and seemed to scare the opposition defense when charging forward. An impressive, if perhaps subtle, display.
Was on hand to stop a Pelle header on the goal line in the first half - though Adrian would likely have gotten to it also - but struggled against the movement of the striker throughout.
Fairly assured at the back in the first half but Pelle and Schneiderlin caused him constant hassle after the break. Seemed to tire very quickly.
Continually left far too much space behind him as Tadic exploited time and time against in the first half, notably for Southampton’s equalizer.
Looked stretched at times in the back, with O’Brien not doing enough to his right but benefits from Reid on the other side. Marshaled the back line well as the pressure mounted.
Has evidently already built up a partnership with Zarate with the pair interchanging in midfield throughout the first half but not as impressive as last weekend on the whole. His delivery really let him down this afternoon, and thus West Ham's attack lacked a cutting edge.
Another who seems to be benefiting from Zarate’s presence alongside him, with the two combining for the opening goal, but had a battle on his hands keeping Schneiderlin quiet throughout, which he attempted with mixed results.
Careless in possession at first but soon grew into the No. 10 role with ease. Was as industrious tracking back as he was neat and nibble in attack – and showed both aspects in the buildup to West Ham’s first goal. Very much provides a spark and excitement to his side’s attack but faded quickly in the second half.
Nearly opened the scoring when his tame shot bobbled past the far post following a penalty area mix up, but otherwise provided little attacking threat. Replaced by Valencia 15 minutes from time.
Ricardo Vaz Té
Completely invisible in the first half. The game seemed to pass him by as the likes of Zarate, Downing and Cole all stepped up. Improved little after the break.
Noble's opener took a nick off Yoshida to fly past his outstretched palm but otherwise saw little action.
Never appeared too concerned by the threat, or lack thereof, from Cole and Vaz Te and mopped up any long balls sent his way. A commanding performance.
Always willing to provide an outlet on the right-hand side but was often overlooked for a more central approach by the hosts. Cut a frustrated figure at times. Provided a fine assist, albeit inadvertently, for Pelle's goal.
Strong enough at the back and linked up well with Tadic. Was guilty at times of a lack of concentration with his positioning suspect on occasion.
Was less successful than Fonte against West Ham’s flair players and was guilty of being pulled out of position on more than one occasion but West Ham's fading attack allowed him more time to express himself after the break.
Provided the assists for Southampton’s second but was perhaps not as effective on the whole as he would have hoped. Replaced by Cork with 25 minutes to go.
Very lively in midfield against the likes of Kouyate and Noble and always looked to bring Pelle, Long & Co. into action, even if his end product was not the best.
Was caught in possession for West Ham’s opener but made amends with the equaliser on the stroke of half-time before a neat volley after the break. Is evidently Southampton’s heartbeat with everything flowing through the Frenchman. Will be a huge miss if he is to leave before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Workman-like but not effective enough in the first half. Started the second half stronger with a few testing efforts at goal but was withdrawn just after the hour mark.
Lively throughout and deserved his goal but will be disappointed not to have added to that tally after a mistimed first-time shot in the first half and being correctly flagged for offside after netting in the second.
Afforded far too much room on the left and took advantage with a consistent threat. Looks a fine talent that West Ham never managed to deal with.
Replaced Zarate to some surprise and didn't have anywhere near as much effect on proceedings in difficult circumstances.
Replaced Vaz Te with 30 minutes to play to try and prevent Southampton's ever-improving performance. Lost Clyne for the visitors' third goal.
Struggled to make any impact in a game that was already lost when he came on.
