Should have been more alert to the first goal. Got a hand to it but it wasn't strong enough. Other than that he had nothing to do.
Excellent from the Colombian, barely let anything past him when playing in a back three. Battled well with Mutu and came out on top. When Udinese moved to two at the back in the second half he was equally as comfortable.
Allowed Santana far too much space for the goal, but made up for it later with a spectacular long range goal from 40 yards. Pushed forward and caused Comotto problems.
Was commanding yet understated. Snuffed out the threat of Ljajic and when he had to, coped with Mutu easily.
Unlucky to strike the bar in the opening stages of the game. Kept Vargas quiet as well. Solid but had little to contend with.
Taking on D'Agostino and De Silvestri well and beating them all too often. Put in a good shift and supported the forwards well.
Some very poor passing by the midfielder in the opening exchanges. Gave the ball away to Fiorentina far too easily as well. Did improve and went close with a long range shot in the second half.
Dictated play for the hosts. He was all action, getting back to win the ball plus his forward play in tandem with Sanchez and Di Natale was divine. Taken off for German Denis in the second as Udinese changed shape a little.
The wing back bombed forward and put in a number of telling crosses from the right. Gave De Silvestri a lot of problems for the duration of the game.
A. Di Natale
Very lively, though was offside a lot. His early freekick meant Benatia hit the bar. Tried a nice flick at the end of the first half but it was easily saved. Had another effort trickle just wide on the second, but got his reward late in the game with a well taken goal.
Causing major problems in front of the Fiorentina backline, and he played some neat 1-2's with Di Natale and Asamoah. Also had a couple of long range efforts that went close.
A couple of routine saves but always looked uncertain when cross came in. Could do little about the first Udinese goal and was fooled by Denis' clever back heel for the second.
Made some clumsy challenges on Sanchez and could have given away a penalty in the first half after bringing down Isla.
Made one run forward of note and managed to force a corner. Di Natale had the better of him when he drifted left, Armero also caused him great difficulties with his surging runs.
Ball struck his arm late in the first half but it could be argued it was ball to hand though. Failed in his battle with Denis for Udinese's winner and was pulled around by clever interplay by the Zebrette.
L. De Silvestri
Had a torrid time playing on the left side, never looked comfortable against Pinzi or Isla as he let them get crosses in too often.
The game almost passed him by as Inler and Asamoah took control of the midfield. Had a speculative cross/shot in the first period that Handanovic tipped over.
Two long range shots that went high and wide were the extent of his game as he was reigned in by Benatia and Isla. Very poor.
Made a number of good interceptions in midfield but was booked for a clumsy tackle on Sanchez and almost given a second yellow for an identical challenge on Di Natale. Taken off at half time probably for his own good.
Never made any inroads against his marker, on the odd occasion he did get some room his delivery was extremely poor. But then popped up and scored from 30 yards.
Frustration and petulance sum up his game nicely. Rendered ineffective by Zapata and co. Booked for a quite dangerous tackle on Asamoah then in the second period had a little kick at Armero.
Tried to combine with Mutu but often chose the wrong pass. He never really made any impact on the match and was taken off early in the second half.
- 16 Felipe
- 31 M. Camporese
- 24 A. Cerci
Brought on at half time for Donadel but never made an impact as Udinese's midfield was rampant.
Came on for Vargas and was equally ineffectual. Did little to ease the pressure on the defense and was dealt with by Coda and Zapata easily.
