Tottenham 5-1 Sunderland: Eriksen and Adebayor pile more misery on Poyet's strugglers

The Danish playmaker was at the heart of everything Spurs did going forward, setting up the first two goals before adding a third himself, while the Togo striker scored twice.

Tottenham piled more misery on relegation-threatened Sunderland by coming from a goal down to win 5-1 at White Hart Lane.

Lee Cattermole bagged his first goal for the Black Cats after Vlad Chiriches played the ball across his goal, with Hugo Lloris out of position, straight to the midfielder, who slotted in first time from nearly 30 yards out.

Emmanuel Adebayor equalized for the hosts, turning home Eriksen's cross with a combination of hip and forearm.

Harry Kane completed the turnaround when he converted another Eriksen centre from close range, before Eriksen added a third with a low drive from 20 yards out.

Adebayor grabbed his second of the night by tapping into an unguarded net from a couple of yards out after Kane's shot squirmed underneath Vito Mannone.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors in added time when Gylfi Sigurdsson fired home after Mannone failed to punch clear a corner and his defense could not get the ball to safety.
