Defensive absences fail to diminish positive vibes of Harry Redknapp's side, who finds itself on a 10-match unbeaten streak in all competitions, with Rafa van der Vaart on fire

Harry Redknapp’s defensive options are currently queuing up at the door of the treatment room, meaning that the largely untested center-half duo of Sebastian Bassong and Younes Kaboul will again get the chance to prove their worth. Otherwise, the Spurs boss has more or less the strongest side available to him, with the usual suspects across the middle and Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafa van der Vaart partnering each other up top.

After winning and scoring the penalty which snatched all three points from west London rivals Chelsea last weekend, it’s conceivable that Heidar Helguson will have muscled his way into Neil Warnock’s starting XI plans. That would mean Jay Bothroyd will be consigned to the bench, with other strikers Rob Hulse and DJ Campbell still suffering from injuries. Otherwise, Matthew Connolly and Danny Gabbidon are also both expected to remain on the sidelines, with Warnock likely to select a familiar line up.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • The honors are even between the two in the Premier League, with both Spurs and QPR winning three games apiece in the head-to-head.
  • Of the last 20 Premier League games at White Hart Lane, Spurs have lost just one.
  • Tottenham is currently enjoying its joint-best ever start to a Premier League season after collecting 16 points from eight games.
  • Rafael van der Vaart (pictured right) has netted five times in his last four Premier League outings.
  • Emmanuel Adebayor has netted against every London Premier League club he has played against, tallying six times in total.
  • QPR and one of just two teams who have failed to score a headed goal in the Premier League this term.
  • At the other end, QPR have conceded half of their goals from set-pieces, the worst record in the division.
  • Top-flight London derbies away from home aren’t really to QPR’s liking, the team having failed to win in the last eight attempts.
