Portland took the lead, coughed up the lead and then equalized in the late going away at Toronto in midweek MLS action.Eric Hassli scored a goal and assisted another in Toronto FC's 2-2 draw with the Portland Timbers.
Sal Zizzo opened the scoring. A corner led to a soft header on frame, which Eric Avila chested away from the goal line. However, the clearance fell to Zizzo, who smashed the ball back into the net.
The second was also a tap-in from a block. Donovan Ricketts could only parry away Luis Silva's stiff shot, and Eric Hassli pounced for his first TFC goal.
The same two players combined to score Toronto's second. Hassli's diving header kept Ashtone Morgan's cross afloat and Silva nipped in front of Ricketts at the near post to stab home.
Portland equalized with less than 10 minutes to play. Steven Smith raced in on goal and drew out Milos Kocic before crossing for Darlington Nagbe to finish the scoring.
