Had very little to do in the first-half but did not get over in time to prevent Kasami's goal, though there was little he could have down to stop it. Rarely tested otherwise.
Sunderland captain O'Shea was an effective communicator in directing his back-line and managed to get up for a few corners but could not change the outcome of the game.
A very impressive debut for the Trabzonspor-loanee. Made some excellent challenges and almost grabbed a debut top-corner goal from 25-yards.
Had very little to offer today. Was periperhal, ineffective and off the pace, and clearly needs more experience at this level.
Former England Under-20 international Colback showed a lot of promise by remaining strong and shouldering off all challenges when guarding the ball. He also showed good pace on the breakaway.
The winger showed great intent today by cutting inside on the right and working well with Sessegnon and Cabral to try and change the final result.
Larsson did very well cutting inside and providing some precise balls into the box but there was often no one was there to direct them goalwards.
A bright debut for Cabral who was determined to get on the scoresheet with three first half efforts but could not find the back of the net.
A very good display on debut for the Italian midfield maestro as he picked out Altidore a few times in the box but the American was unable to get a good touch on it for an equaliser. A promising performance all-round.
Sessegnon linked up very well with Adam Johnson with some neat one-two play to try and open up the defence in the early stages and in the second half, set-up Johnson nicely for a volley that was directed wide of the mark.
Sunderland fans will have expected more from Altidore today after scoring a hat-trick against Bosnia in midweek but his efforts were dealt with well by the strong and stubborn Brede Hangeland.
Showed his dominance between the sticks early on and gave a brilliant performance in his first game in a Fulham shirt. Made a super stop to deny Trabzonspor-loanee Ondrej Celustka, leaping to his left to parry away the powerful shot, but sadly picked up an injury in the latter stages.
Riether, fresh from signing a new contract extension, showed unusually little intent going forward but was an integral part of the Cottagers' solid back-four.
Nobody was getting past Aaron Hughes today as he showed off his superb defensive understanding with Hangeland, remaining strong in the tackle and making good clearances at the right time.
The Fulham captain had a solid performance at the back today, remaining commanding in the air to deny Sunderland a goal from their many chances in the first half. A good all-round performance from the Norway international.
Had an excellent eye for picking out passes over the top and on the floor to try and split the Sunderland defence. Has a great ability to read the Fulham offence and fitted into the team well.
A very difficult debut for the Ghana international, who was booked for a terrible tackle as Sunderland's midfield controlled the middle of the pitch. Was virtually anonymous and struggled to impact himself on the match.
Didn't do much today and offered little ball retention in the middle of the pitch, but the 30-year-old was an effective communicator in the heart of Fulham's midfield.
Did not have enough time to make an impact as he was substituted on 18 minutes for Matthew Briggs after he pulled up with a hamstring injury. However, until then, he showed good pace, was strong in the tackle and supplied the offence with some pin-point passes over the top.
Kasami had a decent first-half performance but he really excelled in the second half when he leaped high to nod in Damien Duff's corner to give Fulham the victory. Also provided a useful out-ball as Fulham came under heavy pressure.
A good all-round performance from the former Ireland international, who provided a perfectly executed corner to give Fulham the goal that earned them three points.
Berbatov was kept very quiet due to the excellent Sunderland defence despite early glimpses of brilliance. His frustration showed late on when he was booked for throwing the ball away. A below-par performance for the Bulgarian
Came on as a late replacement for the injured Stekelenburg and was confident and capable. Did everything that was asked of him as Fulham preserved their clean sheet and hung on for all three points.
Came on for Richardson in the 18th minute and was very good slotting into that position showing good pace and picking out passes perfectly.
Endured a tough tackle from Swede Seb Larsson but otherwise a standard performance from the Greek international, and offered more passing nous than Sidwell or Boateng.
