Roy Hodgson's men outplayed their hosts for only their second ever win at the ground, despite a late equalizer from the Potters, securing three points for the relegation candidatesWest Bromwich Albion smashed and grabbed all three points from Stoke City for its first win in 2012 and first at the Brittania in 30 years.
The away side beset Stoke's net for the opening quarter of the match on a blustery day in the midlands. However, Tomas Sorenson didn't have too much to do in the Potters' net, though, until James Morrison forced a picturesque diving save from the big Dane on 26 minutes.
Stoke had little possession in the first half, employing a characteristically direct style which rarely beguiled West Brom's back four. The Baggies' volition and passing continued to overrun their hosts, and the visitors' pressure was rewarded just minutes later.
On 30 minutes, again on the counter-attack, Morrison drove another long-range shot from center. The ball swerved wickedly in front of the Stoke keeper, who reacted late and could only watch the ball trickle in the net behind him.
Stoke did little in reply, ultimately entering the tunnel at halftime without a shot on target against the relegation candidates.
Tony Pulis' men were better in the second half, but could rarely troubled West Brom keeper Ben Foster in goal.
The visitors' football was still superior, and Roy Hodgson's men were on the verge of their first win at Stoke for almost 30 years. However, the hosts were granted a lifeline after 70 minutes when Gareth McCauley felled Jonathan Walters in the area.
But Baggies stopper Ben Foster continued his excellent match by guessing right to save Walter's tame spot-kick and preserve the visitors' lead.
The home side finally equalized just before the death.
Cameron Jerome nodded in substitute Jermain Pennant's cross with only minutes remaining to seemingly seal a share of the points.
But right before the final whistle, Graham Dorans fired from a free-kick from long-range which bundled through the area and somehow into Sorenson's net.
West Brom grabs all three points for the first time this year, also marking the first time it has garnered points at the Britannia in nine matches.
