A sluggish-looking Sporting KC bounced back in the second half to beat Toronto FC at home in Saturday MLS action.
The opening goal arrived via route one soccer. Richard Eckersley dumped the ball forward and second-year defender Lawrence Olum kept Ryan Johnson onside. Johnson had ample time to trap, aim and finish.
The equalizer came from a set piece. Graham Zusi dumped a cross into the box, and the TFC defense cleared. At the top of the box, Paulo Nagamura attempted a one-time volley which hit the grass and looped over goalkeeper Freddy Hall.
With the clock ticking toward full time, Kansas City completed the comeback. After dinking the ball around the field in a smooth team move, Chance Meyers stood the ball up for former Barcelona youth midfielder Oriol Rosell to prod towards goal. Hall spilled what looked like an easy catch into his own net, and SKC claimed three points.
