FCD nearly held on for a road point, but Kamara popped up with just three minutes remaining to seal the win.

Sporting Kansas City improved to 3-0-0 on the young 2012 season after a 2-1 win over FC Dallas at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Kei Kamara's late goal sent the visitors to their first loss of the season.

FC Dallas took the lead 25 minutes in off a stellar free kick from Ricardo Villar. From just outside the area, Villar curled a shot over the wall that Jimmy Nielsen simply admired on its way into the far corner.

Just when it looked like FC Dallas would enter the halftime break with a lead, Aurelien Collin equalized with a header off a Graham Zusi free kick. The Frenchman got behind the FCD defense and timed his jump perfectly in front of Kevin Hartman to nod home deep into first-half injury time.

Only five minutes into the second half, the home side had a golden opportunity to take the lead when Ugo Ihemelu felled Chance Myers in the box. However, on the ensuing penalty kick, Kevin Hartman came up with a truly outstanding save, diving at full stretch to his right to deny Kei Kamara.

FC Dallas was looking likely to snatch a road point, but just three minutes from time, Sporting KC found a winner.

Zusi sprung Myers down the right flank with an excellent ball and Myers centered for the hard-charging Kamara, who made up for his penalty miss by sliding a shot past Kevin Hartman, and sent the home crowd into raptures.
