The top team in the Western Conference will play host to a Dallas team that sits third in a midweek showdown.
The Seattle Sounders are riding high at the top of the Western Conference after four wins on the bounce. Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins have formed the most dangerous attacking partnership in the league so far this season, and it will now be up to FC Dallas to try to find a way to slow down the Sounders.
The Hoops got off to a bright start this season as well, winning four of their first five games of the year before taking their first loss against the Sounders on April 12.
The team responded to that loss with a win over Toronto FC but has since taken back-to-back losses to D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls to fall to third in the Western Conference. It has also seen playmaker Mauro Diaz go out with an injury, with the team yet to confirm its severity.
For Dallas the challenge will be containing the most potent attack in the league, with Seattle having racked up 20 goals over the first nine games of the season, including 15 in the last five matches. However, the Sounders have also been know to conceed goals from time to time, giving up 13 already this year, including two to FCD in their earlier meeting, leaving plenty of reason to think this will be another wide-open affair.
