  DID YOU KNOW?
  • Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid has his work cut for him as his team currently has the most injuries of any roster in MLS with 11 players dealing with various ailments. Schmid has both of his top two goalkeepers out in Michael Gspurning and Marcus Hahnemann.

  • Adding to Schmid's woes, Eddie Johnson will miss action as he plays in the Gold Cup final against Panama on Sunday.
  • Hoping to change its fortunes, Chivas USA brought in Mexico youth international Erick Torres and signed U.S. international Carlos Bocanegra and the pair made an instant impact. Chivas USA won for the first time in 15 games, defeating Toronto 1-0 with Torres scoring the lone goal.
  • Chivas USA may be the worst team in the league in goals conceded but it certainly isn't Dan Kennedy's fault. The goalkeeper is fouth in the league in saves, stopping the ball 67 times heading into this week.
  • If there's one bright spot that has carried through the season for Seattle, it's the continued strong play of rookie defender DeAndre Yedlin. Yedlin scored his first goal last weekend in Seattle's 1-1 draw against Colorado and was named MLS's Rookie of the Week on Friday. He was also selected to the MLS All-Star Game as one of commissioner Don Garber's two selections.
