Did not command the area at all well as he failed to clear the ball out of the box with his punches. However, shot stopping could not be faulted as he denied Madrid with a string of decent saves.
De La Bella
Was guilty of coming in too narrow which gifted James and Carvajal room down the right. Did pick out an excellent cross for Sociedad's second goal.
Had a torrid time in the opening 11 minutes as his positioning was poor for both goals. Didn't track the overlapping runs of Marcelo in particular.
Stepped out of position at the wrong times which left space in behind but contributed to the cause with a decent finish at the back post to make it 2-1 in the first half.
Cleverly drifted to the front post to flick on Castro's corner kick as he recorded an assist for the home side's opening goal. Grabbed another with a teasing cross into the box for Zurutuza to score.
Failed to beat Sergio Ramos to the ball for the opening goal and was left for dead after being nutmegged by Bale for the second. Was much better in the second half.
Was lucky to still be on the park after picking up just one booking after two cynical fouls in the first half. Saw a powerful volley blocked by Ramos inside the box. Passing was solid throughout.
Late runs into the box proved to be a threat all match and it was through this he scored his goals. Put a header into the corner and smashed a strike home from close range.
Attempted to get in the faces of Modric and Kroos which did force a couple of mistakes. Assisted the last goal with a flicked header to Vela at the back post.
Was isolated for the first 20 minutes as he failed to latch on to any long balls over the top. However, eventually grew into the match and caused problems with his physical presence.
Delivery into the box proved to be a threat. Wasn't particularly effective when dribbling down the wing, though.
Didn't inspire confidence in between the sticks for Madrid as he was reluctant to come and collect crosses. Made one good save from Agirretxe but shipped four goals in the end.
Got Madrid off to a flyer with a signature front-post header but at the other end of the pitch he wasn't his usual dominant self. Was bullied at times by Agirretxe.
Was excellent in the opening 20 minutes of the match as he continually made marauding runs into the box, but marking was shoddy inside his own area as he allowed the opposition too many free attempts at goal.
Went through the wars tonight as he picked up a couple of nasty knocks. This seemed to affect his game as his passing was shaky and marking at the back post non-existent.
Looked solid in the opening stages but as Sociedad clawed back into contention he lost concentration. Shirked away from the ball at the back post which allowed Vela to score.
Was class in his touch and got into some decent positions whenever he searched for space on the wings, but a lack of drive or incisive passing left him pretty much a passenger.
Neat and tidy in possession as always but shirked his defensive duties too much as he allowed the midfield runners of Sociedad get in behind him time and time again.
Largely anonymous for most of the match as he failed to get in any good position in central areas. Touch was also poor as he broke down a number of potentially meaningful attacks.
Looked up for it from the get-go and grabbed the second goal of the match with a delightful nutmeg of Elustundo and finish into the bottom corner. Didn't offer much in the second half.
Didn't look the same player without Xabi Alonso protecting the space in behind him. Was more tentative in his passing which meant there wasn't much of a tempo to Madrid's midfield play.
Didn't lead the line at all well as he regularly drifted into the wings, which took up the space of the other attackers. No shots at goal or chances created of note.
