Real Salt Lake earned a 2-1 win over Philadelphia in the lone Major League Soccer match on Saturday night.Real Salt Lake earned a 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Union with all three goals coming before the halftime break.
Kyle Beckerman and Chris Schuler put the home side 2-0 up. Bekerman's goal came 18 minutes in after the midfielder played a one-two off a corner kick and found enough space to pound his shot home. Beckerman set up RSL's second with a whipped corner that Schuler put away eight minutes later.
Sebastién Le Toux pulled one back for the Union 30 minutes in and gave his team a lifeline with a first-time hit from a Justin Mapp cross, but the goal would be the last of the match.
Both sides would have other chances, most notably Fabián Espíndola having two shots saved for RSL and Mapp's soft shot when clear on goal for Philadelphia, but the match would end with Salt Lake still clutching the one-goal advantage.
