David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Kris Boyd all had braces on a night full of goals in Portland. The Los Angeles Galaxy and Portland Timber poured in eight goals on Saturday night, with the Galaxy walking out with a 5-3 win.
Kris Boyd brought the home fans to their feet three minutes in with the game's first goal in just the third minute of play.
The lead only lasted until the 19th minute when David Beckham netted his first of the night to pull the Galaxy level, and the goals kept flowing throughout the night.
Beckham put home a lovely free kick in the 24th, Landon Donovan netted from the penalty spot in the 27th and Robbie Keane made it 4-1 to the Galaxy with his first of the night in the 28th.
Kosuke Kimura pulled his team back within two goals before the break, but the Galaxy seemed to be in command at halftime.
The second half brought more goals as both Keane and Boyd would find the net again, but in the end the Galaxy's firepower was too much for the Timbers to deal with.
