Goals and ejections abounded at PPL as Philadelphia and Seattle split a rough game 2-2.

CHESTER, PA -- The Philadelphia Union and the Seattle Sounders split the points in a contentious game at PPL Park, each side with a pair of goals in a 2-2 draw.

Eddie Johnson opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the game, heading in Mauro Rosales' corner kick, although Union keeper Zac MacMath did poorly with the attempted stop, landing inside the net.

The Union hit back soon after the restart. Danny Cruz scored two goals in as many minutes, slamming home the loose ball after Conor Casey's header glanced off the post before collecting another rebound in the box and finishing past Michael Gspurning.

Rosales equalized for Seattle in the 64th minute.

Seattle midfielder Lamar Neagle and Union defender Sheanon Williams were sent off for a scuffle in the 85th minute.

In an eventful stoppage time, another Sounders player saw red. DeAndre Yedlin was sent to the showers after a cynical foul on Michael Farfan. The Union also had a penalty denied after Leo Gonzalez appeared to handle Casey's shot.
