Saved well from Doyle early on and rushed out to stop Jarvis late in the first half. Could do nothing to prevent either goal in the second half.
Could have done better to clear his lines from O’Hara’s free-kick after he beaten in the air. Struggled in the second-half after a promising first half
Could have scored if not for a great save from Hennessey. Allowed Jarvis time and space to get his shot away which gave Wolves a way back into the game.
Defended well against the threat of Foley and attacked down the flank with menace which gave Gutierrez more freedom. They linked up well down the left and caused Wolves problems. Poor in the second half.
Handled the threat of Doyle well in the first half. Raided forward well but was occasionally caught out of position. Struggled in the second half.
Had a good game down the right and offered much needed width to the Magpies. Was taken off early in the second-half after returning from injury.
Competed well in midfield and used his physical play to win the ball. From that he gave Newcastle an excellent platform to attack. Showed why he was missed when at the African Cup of Nations. Struggled to get going again in the second half.
Great strike to double Newcastle’s lead, after Wolves gave him time and space to pick his spot. Had a great first half and was at the center of everything the Magpies did going forward. Had brief moments in the second half.
Closed down Berra well for the first goal and provided good cross for Ba who nearly found the net. Used the ball well in possession.
Good finish from close range to give the Magpies the lead showing his predatory instincts to be at the right place in the right time. Gave Wolves defense all sorts of problems with his pace and movement. Faded in the second-half.
Didn’t have the best of games and didn’t seem his usual self. However had once decent chance which was well saved by Hennessey but it was his strike partner causing most of the problems.

Had a decent game for the visitors. He struggled to get going in the first half but like his teammates got into the game in the second half.
At fault for the first goal as he careless on the edge of his own box and was robbed by Cabaye which led to Cisse finding the net. Improved greatly in the second half.
Was reduced to a defensive role in the first-half and struggled against the threat of Ryan Taylor. However in the second half he improved and started to move forward and caused problems.
Improved as the game wore on and handled the threat of Ba extremely well.
Good finish to get his side back into the game. Troubled the Magpies defense with his movement and his pace. Wolves best player on the day and was always looking to cause problems when he could.
Tried to get Wolves going forward in the first half but was well marked by Tiote. Got to see more of the ball and had more freedom in the second half when he troubled the Newcastle defense.
Got better as the game wore on. Used his tenacity to good effect in the second half as the visitors improved.
Played well in the second half as he got the better of Cabaye and Tiote after an extremely poor first half where the game passed him by.
Lead the line superbly and got a deserved goal. Played extremely well against Coloccini. Outstanding performance.

Struggled to get up to the pace of the game after coming on as a substitute in the second half. Showed brief moments of good passing as he tried to get the Magpies going again.

Showed occasional glimpses of skill and looked to threaten Wolves down the flanks but his final ball was poor.
Had little effect on the game after coming on late as a substitute.
