Thierry Henry and Fabian Espindola scored to give the Red Bulls a three-point lead atop the Eastern Conference.

Thierry Henry opened the scoring, Fabian Espindola capped it, and the New York Red Bulls moved to alone atop the Eastern Conference with a 2-0 win over Toronto FC on Saturday.

Although the Red Bulls have two games in hand on Montreal and one game in hand on Kansas City, they for now have a three-point lead over those conference foes. It was the third straight win for New York, while Toronto is winless in seven.

New York struck first in the 32nd minute. Making his first start, rookie Michael Bustamante found himself with time to pick out Dax McCarty in the box, and the midfielder hit a low pass across the goalmouth that Henry buried at the back post.

After searching for an insurance goal throughout the second half, the Red Bulls got it in the 80th minute. After Toronto defender Steven Caldwell cleared a cross, Espindola from a tight angle floated a header back into the mix that somehow nestled into the far side netting.
