The French forward scored the games only goal but left with an injured hamstring. The good news for the New York Red Bulls is that Thierry Henry was on hand Saturday afternoon to score his ninth goal of the season and give the club a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution. The bad news is that he also picked up a hamstring injury and could be out of action for a little while.
Henry's goal came just seven minutes into the match. Connor Lade's curling ball forward was in the perfect position for Henry to rush past his mark and leave Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis stranded as the Frenchman chipped his first touch into New England's goal.
The injury came in the 23rd minute, with Henry hitting the ground despite no contact and leaving the match with what the club is reporting as a right hamstring strain.
New England had its share of chances as well, most notably a free header for Benny Feilhaber from just in front of goal, but New York's young goalkeeper Ryan Meara came up with several good save to hold on for his first clean sheet as a professional.
