New York got a quality win on Sunday, taking a 2-0 result off the Houston Dynamo.Second-half goals from Fabian Espindola and Jonathan Steele were enough to lift the New York Red Bulls past the Houston Dynamo on Sunday.
The first half brought no goals, but both teams had chances early in the second frame to open the scoring. Thierry Henry and Giles Barnes each had looks in alone on the goalkeeper, but both failed to find the net.
After almost an hour of scoreless play, Eric Alexander's through ball set Espindola free behind the Houston defense where he slid his shot into the lower corner to give New York a 1-0 lead.
The Red Bulls would get an insurance goal in the 88th when Steele was picked out by Henry and finished well to make it 2-0.
