New England capitalized on its advantage late with two goals in stoppage time. Teal Bunbury beat Eric Kronberg to a ball into the box in the 92nd minute for his first goal as a New England player.
The Revolution hammered home the result almost immediately after. Diego Fagundez's shot deflected up off Kronberg's shoulder, and as Fagundez went to collect the ball, Sporting midfielder Oriol Rosell handled the ball, conceding a penalty. Lee Nguyen did the honors on the spot kick.
New England's record goes to 3-3-2 on the season. Sporting Kansas City is equal on points but has a game in hand with its 3-2-2 record.
