A four-goal first half sent the home side on its way to a dominating win on Sunday evening
The Revs opened the scoring when Chris Tierney sent in a wicked low cross after a one-two pass with Fagundez. Stefan Frei made the initial save from Teal Bunbury’s low shot, but Patrick Mullins was on hand to clean up the rebound.
A half-hour into the match, it was two for the Revs. Again Tierney was involved, as the left back found Fagundez inside the box. The teenager was given far too much time and space to drive a shot low into the near post.
The home side tripled its advantage just minutes later. Lee Nguyen sent Bunbury through and after his initial shot was saved, Bunbury’s rebound attempt squirted through Frei, who could’ve done better with the second effort.
The route was officially on five minutes later, and it was Fagundez grabbing his second of the game. Bunbury sent a tremendous cross-field switch to the Uruguayan on a counterattack, and Faugundez chested down and finished low to the far post.
Things somehow managed to get even worse for Seattle within a minute of the restart. Bunbury’s centering ball struck Chad Marshall and the deflection wrong-footed Frei for an own goal. From there, the home side cruised in a five-star performance.
