New England Revolution 2-0 FC Dallas: Hoops fall in New England

Jim Rogash

After going seven matches without a win, New England notched a 2-0 home victory over FC Dallas.

The New England Revolution snapped a seven-match winless streak with a 2-0 win over FC Dallas thanks to goals form Shalrie Joseph and Rajko Lekic on either side of halftime.

Monsef Zerka supplied a fine cross for Joseph's goal in the 14th minute after New England put together a solid attacking move. The big midfielder finished it off with a diving header to put his side ahead 1-0.

But unlike what has been the norm for the Revs this season, the lead not only held but was doubled after the break. With five minutes left to play, and with Dallas having been held despite a desperate push for an equalizer, Lekic got on the end of a flicked corner and tucked home to make it 2-0 and give the match its final scoreline.
